Mbarara University of Science and Technology through its simulation for life program desired to introduce peer to peer learning methodology as a concept to enhance knowledge, skills acquisition, retention, and maintenance and improve teamwork skills in the 5 districts of South Western Uganda namely Rubirizi, Bushenyi, Mbarara, Ntungamo, and Isingiro covering a total 36 facilities.

Thus the introduction of peer learning cards, to facilitate peer to peer learning and practice.
To be able to facilitate peer to peer learning and practice, one needs to have the knowledge and concepts of HBS (helping babies breathe and essential care of every baby), therefore HBS is a pre-requisite course that participants need to have taken before and that’s why the HBS courses are taught prior to peer learning course.
