The Sim for Life’s staffs are trained to facilitate simulation sessions for pre-service and in-service health care personnel.
Dr. Data Santorino
Principal Investigator
Dr. Santorino Data, the country manager of CAMTech Uganda, is a pediatrician and lecturer at MUST and a Master Trainer of Pediatric programs.
He is an international trainer of the HBB program since 2010 and by May 2015, he had trained over 1000 health providers. In partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Dr. Data was involved in the review, beta testing and introduction of the Essential Care for Every Baby (ECEB) and Essential Care for Small Babies (ECSB) training programs. He was an invited trainer at the Africa Regional launch of ECEB in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (May 2014), the Asia Regional launch of ECEB and ECSB in Dhaka, Bangladesh (April 2015) and the Ethiopia training of Master Trainers in HBB, ECEB, and ECSB (September 2015) under the Survive and Thrive initiative.
In recognition of his experience and contribution to newborn care training and implementation, Dr. Data was invited and participated in the Utstein Helping Babies Survive (HBS) / Helping Mothers Survive (HMS) implementation review meeting (June 2015).
Dr. Data will lead the day to day implementation of Sim for Life.

Ms. Josephine Najjuma
SIM Coordinator
Josephine Najjuma, RN, BNS, PGD, MNS (MUST): MsNajjuma is one of the founding members of the Simulation center.
She has Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science from MUST. Has expertise in simulation methodologies ranging from facilitating scenarios with pre-service and in-service health workers, faculty development.
She will work with faculty to assist in the integration of simulation in health profession’s education at MUST and other institutions in the region.

Ms. Shifra Nankunda
Community Coordinator
Ms. Nankunda Shifra holds a Bachelor’s degree in nursing science from Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
She possesses a great interest in maternal and child health and she is currently our health facility coordinator with in communities. She is a facilitator of the helping mothers and babies survive programs and has equipped a variety of health workers with these skills.
Ms Shifra is also works with the very ambitious team at the MUST simulation centre to run the simulation scenarios for students.

Ms. Doreen Mlahagwa
Data Clerk/Office assistant
Ms. Doreen Mlahagwa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).
She currently works as the Data Clerk/Office Assistant at the MUST Simulation Center. She has experience in building study tailored data entry tools, maintain data quality and integrity and securing both hard copy and electronic data files.
Ms. Doreen also manages the inventory of the entire Simulation Center making sure that nothing ever lacks.
Additionally, Ms. Doreen increases the Simulation Center’s visibility by making sure that all its media pages are always update with the activities we carryout.

Dr. Flavia Tumwebaze
Simulation Facilitator
Dr. Tumwebaze Flavia has a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree. She facilitates learning of undergraduate medical and nursing students through simulated scenarios at the MUST simulation Center.
In addition, she has experience educating a variety of maternal-new-born healthcare professionals throughout Uganda as a trained trainer for the Helping Babies Survive (HBS) and Helping Mothers Survive (HMS) programs.
