hms and hbs training in frontline health workers

The center is intent on improving maternal and newborn knowledge, skills retention, and decision making by frontline health workers, with new tools: simulation-enhanced peer learning and Protecting Infants Remotely by SMS (PRISMS) a smartphone application for newborn care clinical decisions and measurement.

Frontline birth attendants are often the only care providers responsible for newborn care including newborn resuscitation, thermal care, feeding, and administration of medications, and so we intend to impart skills, retain and or maintain skills, empower frontline birth attendants to appropriately intervene at times of need and Objective Measurement for quality improvement.
