The kampala symposium

Mbarara University of Science and Technology and its partners established the Simulation for Life program to introduce, sustain and grow medical simulation practices in East Africa. This simulation symposium aimed at providing a platform to share progress, challenges, and opportunities and co-create a regional simulation community of practice. Healthcare professionals both pre-service and in-service, academics, health system managers, health implementation partners, and policymakers attended this symposium

We had an opening visualization where every participant engaged in at least one Simulation scenario for either PPH or diarrhea and vomiting and was thereafter debriefed on what they would have done differently. One of the participants said, “Medical simulation helps in the acquisition of clinical skills which ultimately improves maternal and child health outcomes”.

We would like to thank everyone who turned up for the symposium and for your contribution for the success of the event.
